Dr. Van Krueger is an orthopedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in sports medicine, shoulder, and trauma. He specializes in diagnosing and treating a broad array of musculoskeletal conditions including work injuries, degenerative joint disease, fractures and sports-related injuries. This includes:
- Rotator cuff tears
- Shoulder arthritis
- Shoulder instability
- Knee ligament tears
- Knee Meniscus tears
- Cartilage lesions
- Fractures
Dr. Krueger serves his community with a patient-first mindset, and is particularly interested in shoulder, elbow, and knee injuries and the care of patients of all ages and athletic abilities. His office is conveniently located in Creve Coeur at Ortho Missouri.
Dr. Krueger is a St. Louis native who attended Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School (MICDS)l. He graduated from Bowdoin College with a degree in Biochemistry and Computer Science. He played varsity lacrosse and received Academic All-NESCAC awards his junior and senior years. He went on to attend medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine and received his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at Cornell Tech Johnson School of Management while in medical school. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Through this program, he helped care for Brown University athletes and Mt. Hope High School football players. Following his residency, he completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI.
Dr. Krueger then completed his sports medicine fellowship at the San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship in San Diego, CA. Here, he received advanced training in shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, and cartilage restoration caring for the full spectrum of athletes. And he served as the assistant team physician for several professional, collegiate, and high school teams, including the San Diego Legion (professional rugby), San Diego State University (D1 football and soccer), San Diego Gulls (professional hockey), Grossmont College, Mesa College, and La Jolla Country Day High School.
Academically, Dr. Krueger has published book chapters and numerous articles in peer reviewed journals. He has also given presentations at both local and national conferences.
