Stephen L. Kates, MD earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School's Honors Program and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Kates has practiced orthopaedic surgery in Rochester, NY since 1989 and has developed an internationally recognized geriatric fracture program at Highland Hospital. He has lectured extensively in North America, Europe, and Asia on geriatric fractures.
Dr. Kates is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics and board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Geriatrics Society, and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Kates is also a member of AO North America's teaching faculty.
