Brief Intro

Dr. Lohner was educated and trained at top colleges and hospitals. He teaches plastic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, and wrote a chapter in a textbook used by plastic surgery students, and has been appointed Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Education: Dr. Lohner has a degree in Chemistry and German from Dartmouth College. He completed medical school at Rutgers, where he was named to Alpha Omega Alpha, an honorary society for the top 10% of medical students. Dr. Lohner studied general surgery at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT, rising to Chief Resident of General Surgery. He then narrowed his focus to plastic surgery, and learned the techniques by studying under the masters at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Lohner has taught at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Hartford, and currently teaches at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He has been Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Bryn Mawr Hospital since 2005. Dr. Lohner has passed the boards and become board certified in general surgery and plastic surgery. He is licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania. He has received numerous awards and honors, including graduating at the top of his class in organic chemistry at Dartmouth, being named to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and receiving the Dr. Robert W. Painter Award for Outstanding General Surgery Resident and the Edward Weck Incorporated Award for Outstanding Chief Resident. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Surgery, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a member of the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons and a member of the Robert H. Ivy Society.
