Dr. David Rose is well known in the Main Line community for his pioneering work in laparoscopic surgery as well as his compassionate and thorough approach to breast surgery patients. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Rose attended Haverford College where he developed a strong attachment to this community. Upon completion of his formal medical training in New York, he returned to this area and the Bryn Mawr Hospital, specifically, where he has served as a dedicated physician and teacher since 1983. Throughout his career, Dr. Rose has held many leadership positions and been the recipient of many prestigious awards. A dedicated teacher, he was the recipient of the Dean’s Special Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching from Drexel University Medical College in 2006, 2007, and 2008, and was awarded the Bryn Mawr Hospital Medical Milestone Award in 2005. He has authored numerous publications, lectured extensively and remains a clinical investigator of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast Project since 1982. Recognized nationally and locally as a Top Doctor in Doctors Across America, America’s Top Surgeons, and Philadelphia Magazine, Dr. Rose currently serves at the Chief of the General Surgery Service of The Bryn Mawr Hospital, and he is the Medical Director, Quality and Patient Safety, for the Main Line Health System.
