Dr. Marino earned his medical degree from LSU where he also completed his surgery internship. He completed his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and a cardiovascular fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston. He also completed clinical and research fellowships in intensive care at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is board certified in anesthesiology since 1975 and critical care medicine since 1985. Dr. Marino has been on staff at Ochsner since 1975. He was Medical Director of Ochsner Flight Care from 1984 - 2006. He was Chairman of the Bioethics Committee from 1984-2004 and is still actively involved. He is currently Medical Director of the Covington Ochsner Satellite Clinic.
