In 1964, I moved from Sacramento, California to Bellevue, Washington. I spent my residency in New Mexico, moved again, and now live less than a mile from where I grew up. I am happily married, with a blended family of six children and three grandchildren. All live within a few miles of us. We have two well-behaved dogs and a home on Orcas Island, where we plan to retire. I chose medicine because I love science of all kinds, and want to serve others to make the world a better place. Over the years, I have held various leadership positions, but always return to my passion for patient care. Latin American studies was my second major.
