Jay A. Crossland, DDS
Dr. Crossland, a native Texan, earned a B.A. degree from the University of Massachusetts. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Baylor College of Dentistry, a member of the Texas A & M University System Health Science Center. Dr. Crossland completed his specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, a level-one regional trauma center serving Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Dr. Crossland became Board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2007.
Dr. Crossland's leadership and commitment to dentistry is evident in his active involvement as a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the South Dakota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the South Dakota Dental Association, and the Black Hills District Dental Society. He shows a high level of commitment to quality health care by pursuing advance training, which is evident by his certification as a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesia and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Crossland has a particular interest in providing in-office anesthesia for anxious and fearful adults as well as children requiring oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Crossland continually pursues advanced training to keep his surgical and anesthesia techniques current with today's highest standards. Jaw reconstruction and dental implant therapy are meaningful parts of Dr. Crossland's practice. He is a member of the Medical Staff at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
As a member of the Black Hills community, he actively participates on the Board of Directors of several non-profit organizations.  He is married and raising his young family in Rapid City.
