I was born in California but I spent my early years growing up in Taiwan. At the age of five I returned to the United States and I've stayed here ever since. I have always loved sports and outdoor activities; perhaps one of the most memorable experiences I've had was hiking through parts of the wild bush country of Zimbabwe while working in a remote mission hospital. Since my stroke, however, my interests have limited to building a reef aquarium and developing an interest in photography. My love for the arts and sciences and my interest in people's lives have led me into the field of medicine.
