Brief Intro

Etan Orgel, MD, is board-certified in pediatrics and is board-eligible in pediatric hematology/oncology and is practicing hematology/oncology at Jonathan Jaques Childrens Cancer Center at Miller Childrens Hospital Long Beach. Dr. Orgel graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. While in medical school, he was granted several awards to complete fellowships focused on clinical, public health and research projects in developing nations. Subsequently, he attended the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, where he received a masters of science degree in clinical and biomedical investigations from the department of preventative medicine. He completed his residency in general pediatrics at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., followed by a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. his role at Miller Childrens Hospital Long Beach, Dr. Orgel serves as an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Orgel has been awarded multiple grants to conduct research on various aspects of Lymphoblastic Leukemia including the Hope on Wheels Hyundai Scholars Award in 2012. His research interests include cancer control, ototoxicity/otoprotective agents and strategies, bone health and metabolism, and effects of obesity and nutrition in cancer therapy. Dr. Orgel has written several peer-reviewed articles that appeared in publications like the Journal of Palliative Medicine and Pediatric Blood and Cancer. He is an active member of several professional societies including the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
