Dr. Hamel was born and raised in Seattle and attended college at Seattle University and then Medical School at the University of Washington. His residency at Oregon Health Sciences University was completed in 1988. Portland is now his home and he has been in practice in East Portland since 1989. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Hamel and his wife have 2 boys. They love hiking, soccer and lots of family activities.
