Dr. Cohen is specialty-trained in Cancer Surgery. After he completed his Surgical Oncology Fellowship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in 1989 he became a member of this practice. His earlier training included a B.S. at Yale University and a medical degree from Mount Sinai Medical School, in NYC. In addition to General Surgery, he devotes much of his time to caring for patients with cancer of the breast, skin and GI tract. He is an advocate of breast-conservative procedures such as "lumpectomy", as well as being experienced in Sentinel Lymph Node biopsies - another useful procedure that allows for smaller and safer operations for patients with melanoma and breast cancer. He frequently participates in Surgical Cancer Societies and has been repeatedly named in "Top Doctor" publications. The American College of Surgeons has included him as a fellow since 1990.
