What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
I am very passionate about giving the best care for my patients and treating them like they are my family. As a healthcare provider, there are plenty of things I can assist my patients with that I was unable to do before as a registered nurse such as (to name a few) diagnosing, treating, and, most importantly for me, providing preventative care. This was a real game changer for me when I started working as a healthcare provider 8 years ago.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
I strongly believe that it is my role as the primary care provider to listen to the patients' needs and not just focusing on what I think they need. Although it is important that I treat my patients based on my medical knowledge, it is also crucial to be sensitive to patients' complaints or requests and cater it towards the best treatment goals for them.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
When I am not working, I am homeschooling my two little ones. My husband is also a telemedicine Nurse Practitioner so our family is always together at home. I enjoy movie nights, playing at the park with my kids, HIIT exercises, and traveling with my family.
