Brief Intro

Sonya Worth is a physical therapist at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She specializes in orthopedic physical therapy, sports rehabilitation, orthopedic manual therapy and dry needling. Dry needling is a specific clinical technique for neuromusculoskeletal pain and human movement dysfunction where the therapist inserts a single use monofilament needle into soft tissue to promote physical and biochemical change to improve function. Dry needling is usually used as an aide to manual, movement and exercise therapies.Sonya’s research interests include injury incidence and movement patterns in elite cross-country skiers; and lower back pain.Sonya listens carefully to her patient’s stories; to be sure she develops a personalized plan of care for every patient. She takes pride in the collaboration she has with her patients, and their health care team, to help her patients achieve their functional, movement, and activity goals.Learn more about rehabilitation at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
