Meet Serena Shaw Hello! I am Serena Shaw, L.Ac. MSTCM. I am the licensed and nationally certified acupuncturist here at Nourishing Energy Acupuncture. I received my master's degree in traditional Chinese medicine from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I am also a diplomate of Acupuncture and herbology by the NCCAOM (National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine), and certified in clean needle technique. The current healthcare system hasn’t served you—and has left you frustrated, still in pain, and still searching for relief. You have a right to be heard and participate in your own health. Which is why at Nourishing Energy Acupuncture, I promise to listen to your concerns, make each treatment comfortable and specialized, lay out a plan of care that includes a timeline & budget and always strive to answer your questions. You should feel inspired & hopeful for your future, and I'm here to help you create the life you want to live. I have a special interest in treating women’s heath, fertility, prenatal and postpartum issues. In addition I work a lot with stress, anxiety, pain and veteran’s health. I really love it all! I love having my private acupuncture and massage practice here in the Denver Highlands. It has such a wonderful energy here and is a beautiful location. I pride myself on my excellent needle technique, trying my best to provide gentle yet effective treatments. In addition to being an acupuncturist I have been a licensed massage therapist for over 14 years with extensive experience working with injury recovery. A large portion of that time has been dealing with car accident victims and working with injuries but I love doing prenatal and postpartum massage as well. I have a solid foundation in anatomy and try to bring this to every massage I provide. My undergraduate work was done at Hiram College in Ohio where I received a bachelor's degree in environmental science with a concentration in environmental arts. When I am not working I still love making art work, dancing with my husband, spending time with my daughter making people laugh and working in my garden. If you are interested in learning more about why I decided to practice Chinese medicine check out my blog called Nourishing Writings.
