Richard D Klein, MD, MPH, CLT-LANA, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon. After graduating with honors from Tufts University School of Medicine with medical and public health degrees, Dr. Klein trained in General Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He then went on to complete a trauma/burn research fellowship where he was awarded a prestigious K08 Grant by the National Institutes of Health. He then completed his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan Medical School. His prolific research activities include nearly 100 contributions including scientific presentations, peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and medical abstracts.
A highly experienced surgeon, Dr. Klein has served as principal investigator on several clinical trials and led the team that performed the first Lymph Node Transfer for Lymphedema in Florida in 2013. He is one of the few physicians in the country that is a certified lymphedema therapist and specializes in lymphedema care and lymphedema surgery.
