Lora has been engaged with the principles of somatic psychotherapy for trauma resolution since 2001. She received her master’s degree in counseling with an emphasis in somatic psychotherapy at John F. Kennedy University in California in 2011. She is also formally trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Relational Therapy, Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). As Clinical Director, Lora believes that post-trauma growth, healing, and recovery is possible through the integration of psychological and body-based treatment approaches. She is committed to continue Life Healing Center’s long tradition of complementing evidence-based clinical therapies with holistic and creative therapies such as Acupuncture, Reiki, Breath Work, Massage Therapy, Nutrition Consultation, Mindfulness, Yoga, Art Therapy, Hakomi, Meditative Shamanic Drumming, Creative Writing, Sound Therapy, Psychoeducation, Hypnosis, and other modalities to engage and restore the body and spirit, as well as the mind. Lora has honed a multifaceted integrative approach to treatment of complex trauma, and because of her experience working with patients in all levels of care, she is committed to strengthening the full continuum of care that each client must receive. Lora’s clinical guidance and leadership will continue to enhance the residential experience and life-long outcomes for clients receiving treatment at Life Healing Center.
