Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I initially chose the field of nursing because it offers such as broad array of opportunity. I wanted to work directly with patients and make a positive impact on their lives. As I grew and advanced in my nursing role, I discovered my desire to work specifically with women so I pursued a women's health nurse practitioner (WHNP) degree. My career as a WNHP now allows me the opportunity to help women from adolescence through adulthood meet their health care needs from the preventative care through diagnostic care. What I want my patients to know about me:Patients can expect a good listener and someone they can trust and confide in. I enjoy educating my patients and strive to help them feel empowered to take charge of their own health care needs. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I enjoy spending my free time with my husband, our 4 children, and our grandchildren. I keep busy with going to watch their various activities. I also enjoy camping, kayaking and going to the beach as often as I can.
