Ellen Rutledge is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who serves Central Texas at the Roney Bone and Joint Institute in Temple. Her specialties include orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.Ellen loves athletes of all ages -- teens in school and club sports, college sports participants, and anyone (like herself) who is active and trying to stay healthy through all stages of life. She enjoys guiding the physical rehabilitation of teens and adults as they return to their normal activities after an injury or surgery. Her philosophy is that we are built to move and we function better when we are active. She wants to help her patients move better and participate in the activities they love.She is a member of Texas Nurse Practitioners as well as the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.Born and raised in Dallas, Ellen left the big city to attend college in Lubbock where she fell in love with smaller-town life. She and her husband have lived in the Temple area for almost 30 years, 18 years of which she spent working in emergency departments. In 2022, she returned to Baylor Scott & White Orthopedics in the Sports Medicine department.In her spare time, Ellen loves to hike and trail walk with her husband and friends which keeps her active while immersed in nature.
