Dr. Kutchera earned a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering before attending medical school. He graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana with a degree in medicine in 1988. His internship and residency were completed in 1991 at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont. He then moved to Utah and completed his cardiology fellowship with Level III training in adult echocardiography at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah in 1995. He was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah from 1995-2002 serving as the Director of Echocardiography and co-director of the Cardiology Fellowship program. He has special interests in atherosclerosis, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and cardiac imaging.
