Wendy Yecies, LCSW, is a Licensed Social Worker at Family Psychiatry & Therapy.
Adolescence and young adulthood can be both the most exciting and trying time in one’s life. Having a therapist to help navigate through those times can make all the difference in how one copes and moves forward. Wendy strives to create a safe, supportive, engaging, and nurturing environment for each client. Her broad clinical experience includes treatment of eating disorders, self-harm behaviors, and addiction, as well as adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, mood disorders, family conflict, impulsivity, and difficult life transitions.
Wendy received her MSW from Fordham University in 2006 and has practiced for over a decade in various clinical settings, including recovery centers, domestic violence programs, mental health centers, and schools. She has extensive training in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) with populations ranging from school-aged to adult and geriatric.
Wendy utilizes both solution-focused and insight-oriented therapy, applying principles largely from CBT and DBT. She believes in treating the whole client and welcomes collaboration with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and nutritionists to ensure comprehensive care.
Family Psychiatry and Therapy (FPT) provides expert telehealth psychiatric and therapeutic care for families across New Jersey and New York, including towns like Short Hills, Summit, Millburn, Livingston, and Maplewood.
