Virginia Chiantella, MD, FACS attended the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University and received her MD in 1983 where she also completed her Internship and Residency. She was the first woman to complete the General Surgery residency, and serve as Chief Resident in General Surgery, in the history of the Medical Center. She is the founder of Loudoun Breast Health Network, a non-profit dedicated to the breast health education and support of the breast cancer patients. She is also on the forming board for the Fairfax Breast Health Network. Dr Chiantella has been named the recipient of the Tigerlily Foundation's Inspire Award and was included in Washingtonian Magazine's Top Doctors 2010. She was listed in the Presidential Who's Who of Business and Professional Achievers for 2011 and is featured in the 2012, Leading physicians of the world from the International Association of Healthcare Professionals. Dr. Chiantella is on the medical staff of Reston Hospital Center and Reston Surgery Center.
