Dr. Patone is a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist who has practiced in South Florida since 2009. He is currently the Medical Director of the C. Gordon Griffith Cancer Center at North Shore Medical Center. Dr. Patone graduated in 1999 from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science degree with first class Honors in Physiology. In 2003, he received his Medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He then did his residency training in Radiation Oncology at McGill University where he served as chief resident, graduating in 2008. He completed a fellowship in brachytherapy at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York in 2009 under the leadership of Dr. Louis B. Harrison. He is one of only a few physicians with both Canadian and American board certifications in Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Patone is a specialist in 3D-conformal radiation therapy, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery, MammoSite breast radiation therapy, prostate seed implants, and prostate HDR brachytherapy. He is experienced in the use of all available imaging modalities including CT, MRI, and PET-CT as part of a patient’s treatment planning process. He is a firm believer in a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of cancer. He is an active member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), and the Florida Medical Association (FMA). Recent awards include Best Bed Side Manner and Most Responsive Physician.
