Dr. Goetzl was raised and schooled in the Northeast and has lived in the Triangle area for over 30 years. He had a neurology private practice in Durham for 29 years prior to joining Raleigh Neurology Associates in January of 2008. He completed his neurology residency at Duke University Medical center and is board certified in both neurology and psychiatry. Dr. Goetzl is active in the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, where he currently serves as the chair of the clinical advisory committee and as a trustee of the board. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and is an inductee of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Hall of Fame. He has three sons and one granddaughter.
