I grew up in La Canada, California, which is in LA County. My father is a physician and three of his children have followed his vocational example. The complexity of the human body and its challenges in the environment interested me early on. As my education years continued, I looked forward to challenges that come from working with people and bettering their lives. I have spent time serving outside this country, and I do not take for granted the opportunities we have in health care here. I owe much of what I am to my wife and four children. When I am not working, I enjoy time spent with my family. My children's' activities keep us quite busy.
