My parents are from China, but I was born in Taiwan. My family moved to the United States when I was five, and I grew up in Savannah, Georgia. I went to both college and medical school in New York City, the former being where I met my husband. So at heart, I am a southern girl, but I have the spirit of the city in my veins. I did my neurosurgical training in Boston, and was in practice there for four years before we moved to California to be closer to my parents. With my husband who is also a physician, I am raising a delightful daughter and two obese cats.
