Timothy M. Playl, MD, FAAP, was born in Marietta, Ohio. He received his medical training and pediatric subspecialty training at University of Missouri-Columbia. As a member of the Health Professions Scholarship Program (U.S. Army), he served the first four years after residency as a practicing pediatrician at Fort Polk, La. While with the Army, his medical service resulted in his being awarded both the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. In 1992, he joined the Wooster Clinic in Ohio. In 1998, the Wooster Clinic joined Cleveland Clinic as one of their Regional Medical Centers. Thus, he has been providing pediatric care in Ohio for the past 15 years. Dr. Playl has also been active at Wooster Community Hospital, where the Cleveland Clinic Wooster pediatricians provide their local hospital care. Some of his roles have included Chief of Staff, Vice Chief of Staff and Chairman of Pediatrics. Dr. Playl is board-certified in general pediatrics. He has many pediatric interests. As with most pediatricians, he finds it delightful working with newborns, young children and adolescents. Specific interests include attention deficit disorder, asthma and well-child care.
