Dr. Thomas P. Trezona, originally from Portland, received his undergraduate degree from Portland State University in biology. He then attended graduate school at Portland State University receiving a degree in microbial genetics. He received his medical training at Oregon Health Sciences University. General Surgery training followed at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Southern California. He received his Surgical Oncology and Medical Oncology fellowship training at the Stehlin Oncology Clinic and Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research in Houston, Texas. While practicing in Houston in the early 1990's he was awarded the "Houston's Consumer Choice Award for Health Care Providers" as the Physician of the Year. He has been recognized as one of Lane County's Best Doctors in a survey by Eugene Magazine. Most recently he has been acknowledged with the Guardian Angel Award at RiverBend in 2013. Dr. Trezona is an entrepreneur physician, having opened Cascade Surgical Oncology in 1995 as a solo practitioner. Through his steady leadership and skill he has built his medical and surgical practice as a thriving private oncology practice, specializing in the care of people with cancer. He is board certified and an active member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Clinical Oncology, and other national and international Surgical and Oncological societies. He participates in national and regional clinical trials as part of his practice. He served as Surgery Division Chief for 2 years. Dr. Trezona is the only surgical oncologist between San Francisco and Portland specializing in the both the medical and surgical aspects of cancer care.
