Dr. Tedd L. Weisman has been the Chairman of the Milford Hospital Department of Orthopedic Surgery since 2005. He completed his two-year term as President of the Milford Hospital Medical Staff in 2010. He has been a board-certified fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons since 1992 and he has served the Greater New Haven and Fairfield County communities since 1993. He was the first surgeon in Connecticut to introduce a minimally invasive thumb arthroplasty procedure to treat osteoarthritis as well as the first surgeon at Connecticut's Milford Hospital to introduce the minimally invasive endoscopic cubital tunnel nerve release at the elbow and the neurotube implant to bridge the gap between two ends of lacerated nerves in the fingers. A specialist in orthopedic hand surgery, Weisman is an innovating surgeon who has held a number of key positions at medical centers in Connecticut and New York. After earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completing his medical degree at New York Medical College, Dr. Weisman served as chief resident at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in New York City and then completed a Hand and Micro-Vascular Surgical Fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital. He has also served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at New York Medical College and was the Chief of Hand Surgery at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, New York.
