Dr. Tareq Kamal is a board certified and fellowship trained colon & rectal surgeon. He specializes in the surgical treatment of colorectal disease.
Dr. Kamal earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals Program in Chicago, Illinois and completed his Colorectal Surgery Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Kamal’s clinical interests include Minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic colorectal surgery, anorectal surgery, colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening and polypectomy, transanal minimally-invasive surgery for rectal tumors (Robotic TAMIS), benign and malignant colorectal disease, colon and rectal cancer with sphincter preservation surgeries, diverticulitis, IBD (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), rectal prolapse, anorectal disease (hemorrhoids, anal fistula, fissure, anorectal abscess, anal cancer) and pilonidal disease.
