It is the brave person who allows him or herself to feel vulnerable, admit there is a problem, and take steps to find the right help. Loneliness, sadness, anxiety, depression, irritability, anger and/or mood swings are common experiences. Some have experienced trauma in the past, which may continue to cause problems today. I am committed to help people live their best lives.
I completed a medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and am board-certified in Psychiatry and Preventive Medicine. I graduated from Williams College, and after medical school, completed my specialty trainings at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health General Preventive Medicine Residency program. Some examples of the places I have lived and worked are: a public mental health outpatient clinic in New Zealand, a private practice in Berlin, Germany, the Veterans Administration in Baltimore, Maryland, and a quaternary trauma center at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Maryland. Therefore, I welcome working with people from different backgrounds and viewpoints.
As a child of Asian immigrants to the U.S.A., I grew up with many identities. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the complex interactions that exist across generations, within families, and between different cultures. I see our relationship as collaborative, so that you may come away with a greater clarity on what you seek help with, and a better understanding of your treatment options.
