Dr. Sharma completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology from Leeds University and Manchester University, both in England. He completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Henry Ford Heart and Vascular Institute at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Sharma is board certified in cardiology by the American Board of Cardiology. He has practiced as a cardiovascular specialist in Maryland for over 25 years. He is the founder of Maryland Heart Associates, one of the areas top cardiology practices; the former director of the cardiac catheterization lab at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center; and the current chief of cardiology and director of the cardiac catheterization lab at MedStar Harbor Hospital. Dr. Sharma has medical privileges at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center, MedStar Harbor Hospital, MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and University of Maryland Medical Center.
