Dr. Michael was born and raised in Greer, South Carolina. He was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Blue Ridge High School. He didn’t go far from home to attend Wofford College in Spartanburg. As a Benjamin Wofford Scholar, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biology.
Upon graduation, Dr. Michael moved to Charleston to attend the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. It was there that he met his wife Kelly, a native of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Dr. Michael graduated near the top of his class in dental school and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society.
Dr. Michael’s love for kids and his close friendship with a pediatric dentist there in Charleston led him to pursue specializing in pediatric dentistry. He and Kelly left South Carolina to move to San Antonio so that Dr. Michael could complete a residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
An Upstate South Carolina boy at heart, Dr. Michael is extremely excited about the opportunity to return to Spartanburg and become an integral part of the community as he seeks to meet the oral healthcare needs of infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special needs.
