A native of Greece, Dr. Diavolitsis came to the United States by way of Canada where he completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in Biophysics at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.
He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University of Medicine in New Orleans, LA in 1979. His internship and residency in Internal Medicine was served at Ochsner Clinic and Ochsner Foundation Hospital where he then completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology in 1984 at the same institution.
Dr. Diavolitsis is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Gastroenterology. He holds memberships with the American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology (as a Fellow), American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterology Association, Orleans Parish Medical Society, Southern Medical Association, and Hellenic Gastroenterology Society.
He has written many articles for professional publications on subjects related to the specialty of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Diavolitsis and his wife, Frances, have two daughters.
