Sheila Garris, MD, FACP, FASH is a board-certified internal medicine physician and certified hypertension specialist by the American Society of Hypertension. Dr. Garris received her undergraduate degree from Cheyney University in Cheyney, Pa. and earned her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. She went on to complete her residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
Dr. Garris is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the American Diabetes Association’s Community Based Volunteer Award for her accomplishments in making a difference in the lives of her patients affected by diabetes. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American Society of Hypertension. Additionally, Dr. Garris is an Associate Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va.
