Seung S. Gwon, M.D., M.S.F.A.C.S, received her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and a Masters of Science in Cell Biology and Anatomy from the Finch University of Health Science, both in Illinois. She began her residency in general surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois and later transferred to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California where she completed her surgical residency. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Gwon has been recognized by Consumers Research Council of America as one of "Americans Top Surgeons" in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
