Dr. Saurabh Dang brings his extensive experience in pain medicine to Garden State Pain & Orthopedics. He offers the full range of interventional pain management, with special interests in cancer pain, failed back surgery syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, and neuromodulation. He’s a board-certified anesthesiologist who welcomes patients at four locations: Edison, Clifton, Hazlet, and Jersey City, New Jersey.
Born in New Jersey, Dr. Dang grew up in Upstate New York, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. During his undergraduate years, he played collegiate golf, which triggered his interest in in sports-related injuries. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine, where he graduated cum laude.
Dr. Dang did an internship in general surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, then entered his anesthesiology residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. During that time, he was elected Chief Resident and was awarded Resident of the Year during his final year of training. He completed his fellowship training in interventional pain medicine at the University of Toledo, where he gained significant experience in the use of implantable devices for the management of chronic pain.
Dr. Dang has extensive training in various treatment modalities, including spinal cord stimulation, intrathecal drug delivery systems, and radiofrequency rhizotomy procedures. He’s also experienced in administering epidural steroid injections, selective nerve blocks, and joint injections.
Returning to his roots in New Jersey, Dr. Dang provides coordinated, patient-centered pain management services. His commitment to providing the most evidence-based care is seen through his publications in both anesthesiology and pain management and his presentations at prestigious conferences.
