Graduating from the medical school at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, I was selected as a Ford Foundation Fellow in reproductive endocrinology at USC. I was recruited to join Dr. Sam Yen, a leading scientist and one of the most prominent reproductive endocrinologists at the time. When I joined Kaiser Permanente, I assumed early leadership roles. I was appointed assistant chief of the department, became chief, and then was promoted to assistant area medical director in 2006, a post I hold at the present time. Apart from my work at the medical center, my family and I have participated in many humanitarian, fund- raising efforts, the most recent of which raised $325,000 for building a community center.
