Dr. Roger Good is a Board-Certified Radiation Oncologist. He attended medical school at the University of Nebraska and completed his residency training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and the University of Rochester, where he was an assistant professor. After his graduate training, he returned to the University of Nebraska where he practiced as a tenured associate professor in the Medical School Department of Radiation Oncology for over 10 years. He received the USAF achievment medal at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He designed the University Clarkson Cancer Center and introduced 3D Conformal Radiotherapy and Radiosurgery into clinical practice there as early as 1987 in a research collaboration with the Christie Hospital in Manchester, England. This was one of the first applications of computer-controlled radiotherapy in the US. During this period, Dr. Good published many articles and distinguished himself in the academic community. Dr. Good was a principal investigator (PI) in the RTOG, the national radiation therapy oncology group. He specialized in intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT), gynecologic and pediatric radiation oncology, and developed protocols for skull base and brain tumor brachytherapy as well as prostate brachytherapy. Dr. Good received a 0.75 Million award for cancer research from the Nebraska Development and Research Authority (NRDA) and developed a number of medical devices used for cancer treatment. He received 510k approval from the FDA for the radioactive seed used for prostate implants (Endocurietherapy US Patent 6,099,457). Dr. Good practiced medicine in the state of Washington, where he later designed and directed another Cancer Center (Deaconess Cancer Center) in Spokane, Washington. Currently, Dr. Good oversees the external-beam (IGIMRT) radiotherapy program for prostate cancer treatment with Urology Associates in Columbia.
