As a Reproductive Endocrinologist, I practice reproductive medicine. This of course includes infertility in both sexes: but also menstrual and hormonal issues in women, fibroids, PMS, menopause and osteoporosis, thyroid diseases, adrenal disorders, excess and inadequate testosterone in women, inadequate testosterone in men, sexual dysfunction, alternatives to hysterectomy, non-hormonal therapies for menopause, diabetes and breast cancer prevention, medical weight management. Our IVF patients are seen in collaboration with the best program in New England. We also provide routine gynecologic care and Paps. I have my own ultrasound and semen lab, often our own lab services, so that patients can have their care in one easy location. In a time of mass-produced medicine--some of my colleagues are obliged to see 40 patients a day, that's one each 12 minutes--I like to spend a lot of time getting to know patients and understanding their problems inside and out. A few extra minutes spent taking a careful history can save months of frustration.
Practicing since 1989, I opened this practice in 1995.
My BA is from CWRU (Chemistry and Music, 1978), my medical degree is from UConn (1982), my OBGyn training at Delaware, my fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at University of Penn (1989), a prestigious program. I came to the faculty at Baystate from 1989-92 and established the reproductive services there with another fine MD, then went private, opening this practice in 1995. For twenty years my colleagues and I have provided thoughtful care to the women and men of western Massachusetts.
