Im a Board Certified Endocrinologist who has been in private practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1979. I earned my medical degree from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in 1970, did my internship and residency at Boston City Hospital from 1970-1975, and my Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Stanford University Medical Center from 1975-1977. While doing my internal medicine training, I was mentored by a prominent physician who was instrumental in my decision to become an Endocrinologist. Endocrinology met my need to have a challenging profession, and also an opportunity to help many people. At the time of my training, diabetes was not nearly so amenable to therapies as it is now. Over the years, the disease has gained a much larger focus due to the many new tools and therapies. Today, the treatment of diabetes comprises about 50% of our practice. The most rewarding part of my work is being able to sit down with my patients, listen to their needs, and come up with solutions that will make living with diabetes and other endocrine conditions easier and more manageable.
