Dr. Bloom grew up in New Jersey and attended Tufts University and Tufts Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He subsequently did his internship and residency in internal medicine at George Washington University and a fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Georgetown University. He has been in practice in the Northern Virginia community since 1978. Current special interests within the field of pulmonary medicine involve education of dyspnea, interstitial lung disease, and treatment of resistant asthma. He has been recognized by The Washingtonian Magazine and Washington Consumers? Checkbook as one of the regions "Top Doc?s". Outside the office Dr. Bloom enjoys rooting for the Capitals as well as long-distance cycling.
