Dr. Huler is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty practice limited exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders. Dr. Huler examines over 3,000 patients and performs 400 major spine surgeries each year. He is an active member of the Scoliosis Research Society, the North American Spine Society, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Huler completed his training in pharmacy at the University of Michigan in 1980 and then medicine in 1984. He was a resident orthopedic surgeon at the Indiana University Medical Center from 1984 to 1989. He completed an additional year at the University of Toronto for subspecialty training in spinal surgery.
From 1990 until 1999, Dr. Huler was on the teaching and clinical staff of the department of orthopedic surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine. During that time, he was the chief of the scoliosis service at Riley Children’s Hospital and the chief of the back disorder clinics at the Indianapolis Veterans Hospital.
