Dr. Macdonald is board certified in cardiology and interventional cardiology. He completed medical school, and internal medicine residency and a cardiology fellow-ship at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada. He spent three years at the University of Florida in a research fellowship in interventional cardiology. He has consulted in interventional cardiology product development, lectured at national symposia, been involved in numerous clinical research trials, and most recently served as Clinical Associate Professor of Cardiology at East Carolina University. Dr. Macdonald has personally performed more than 18,000 diagnostic heart catheterizations and 5000 interventions, using the radial approach in more than 5,000 procedures.
