Dr. Clingan, a native Mississippian, received his B.S. and M.D. degrees at the University of Mississippi. He received his dermatology training at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He served for 11 years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, serving in Germany and Vietnam He was awarded the Bronze Star for service in Vietnam War. At the time he left Military Service, he was Acting Chief of the Dermatology Service at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC, in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After military service, he practiced dermatology for 18 years in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1988, Dr. Clingan returned to his home in Mississippi and has practiced general dermatology in Vicksburg since that time.
