Dr. Rick Roman was raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with high honors, he obtained his medical training at Tufts School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Subsequently, Dr. Roman completed internship and residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Duke University Medical Center. Prior to joining South Denver Gastroenterology, Dr. Roman served as a member of the Gastroenterology Division Faculty at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center for three years where he pursued teaching, research in gastrointestinal and liver diseases, and patient care. Over the past decade Dr. Roman has participated as a medical staff leader at Swedish Medical Center in multiple roles, including member of the Medical Executive Committee, Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Chairman of the Credentials Committee, Chairman of the Professional Review Committee, and President of the Medical Staff. Currently, he serves as Chairman of the HealthONE Presidents Council.
Dr. Roman has been a part of South Denver Gastroenterology since 2000. In addition
to striving individually and practice-wide to deliver exceptional patient care and service,
Rick's passions center around his family, including two wonderful teenage daughters.
