Dr. Linsk is a pediatrician and child and adult psychiatrist. After working as a primary care pediatrician at the University of Michigan for 12 years, he decided to focus on psychiatry and completed a Child and Adult Psychiatry fellowship at Case Western University. He is a Board-Certified adult psychiatrist and Board-Eligible in Child Psychiatry.
Dr. Linsk recognizes that psychiatric diagnosis is complex and that treatment planning is most effective if based on a thorough evaluation. At Shalva Psychiatry we offer comprehensive assessments including laboratory assessments for urine neurotransmitters, DNA testing for drug metabolism and genetic predispositions, blood and urine testing for nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances, and food sensitivities, 3D quantitative EEG to assess brain activity and localize abnormalities, and neuropsychologic testing to identify specific deficits. The better we know you, the better the outcome.
In terms of therapy, Dr. Linsk is comfortable with the use of a wide variety of psychiatric medications, as well as nutritional and functional medicine approaches. He is a proponent of positive psychology and behavioral therapies. He works with a team of therapists skilled in CBT, parenting guidance and play therapy, exposure therapies, CBT, biofeedback, and EEG neurofeedback. For children , Dr. Linsk specializes in ADHD, autism, and behavioral issues. He believes strongly in the power of purpose, autonomy, skill acquisition, and positive expectations in the development of children into functional, satisfied adults. He works with parents to develop effective behavioral plans.
