Miyamoto SmilesÂ :Â About Us About Us Dr. Miyamoto is from Waipahu, Hawaii and is a graduate of Waipahu High School and the University of Hawaii. He earned a doctorate degree in dentistry at Northwestern University followed by a residency in general dentistry at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu. Dr. Miyamoto's specialty training includes certificates in Prosthodontics from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Maxillofacial Prosthodontics from the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and Implant Prosthodontics from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Miyamoto was previously on the teaching staff at the UCLA Implant Center. An internationally renowned implant company has appointed him as an instructor to dentist for a certified implant course and mini-residency program. He is a member of the staff at the Queen's Medical Center and Straub, Kuakini and Kaiser hospitals. Doctor Miyamoto and his wife, Gail have four sons Daniel, Aaron, Michael and Mathew. He enjoys coaching his sons in baseball and is involved in their school activities. Infection Control The office is commited to your total health and safety and adheres rigorously to the highest standards of prevention as dictated by OSHA and the American Dental Association. We wash, clean and disenfect all treatment room equipment and furnishings between patients. We throughly clean and sterilize all metal instruments after each use. We maintain hygiene by handwashing procedures, and protection with gloves, masks and eye ware. We maintain updated medical records on our patients through close questioning and monitoring We continually update our knowledge and training on the subject of AIDS, hepatitis, and other infectious deiseases through ongoing seminars and training sessions.
