Dr. Armstrong, former Chief of Surgery for the Naval Regional Medical Center, Great Lakes, Illinois where he also pursued his interest in teaching as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Chicago Medical School. Dr. Armstrong settled in Ironwood after leaving the Navy. For eighteen years, prior to coming to Newberry, he had been in private practice and continued teaching with an appointment as a clinical Assistant Professor at theCollege of Human Medicine, Michigan State University. Dr. Armstrong and his wife Connie (a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) have one daughter, Abigail. What does Dr. Armstrong like to do when he's not working? He enjoys sailing, fishing, hunting, playing the guitar, traveling, and spending time with his family at their cabin on Squaw Lake, near Republic.
