Meet Richard Staehler, MD Richard Staehler, MD is a board-certified physiatrist who strives to address his patients’ concerns with compassion, and encourages them to be active participants in their own recovery and rehabilitation. As a physiatrist, he works with his patients to accurately diagnose and effectively treat their pain, with special consideration for more conservative treatment measures such as physical therapy, medication, and steroid injections to soothe irritated nerves and joints.Dr. Staehler majored in Biology at Ripon College, where he was awarded the G.T. Lewis Award for the most outstanding senior biology student. He then attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison, WI, where he also completed a residency in Internal Medicine and his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. During his residency, Dr. Staehler was named chief resident.Dr. Staehler welcomes patients as unique individuals; he has practiced in a variety of settings, including at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Tomah, WI, at the Central Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled in Madison, WI, and as an Emergency Room Physician in Sauk City, WI. Dr. Staehler works to build trusting relationships with his patients. he is concerned for their well-being as well as their physical symptoms. He listens closely to each patient, guides them through diagnostic and treatment options, and follows up to ensure that each patient is receiving the best care possible.Dr. Staehler now practices at the NeuroSpine Center of Wisconsin, a multispecialty private group practice providing comprehensive world-class integrated care to individuals suffering from spine injuries, brain injuries, tumors, and acute or chronic pain.
