Dr. Lyell graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1987 and received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee-Memphis in 1991. After completion of medical school, he completed a three-year residency in Family Practice at the University of Tennessee-St. Francis Hospital Residency Program serving as Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Lyell is a native of Paris, Tennessee and was a funeral director and embalmer for several years prior to returning to college. He moved to Corydon with his wife, Gena, in 1994. They have two children, Katherine and Colin. And in 2006, Gena, a Family Nurse Practitioner, came to work with him and the other physicians at Harrison Family Medicine. Dr. Lyell is an avid photographer and enjoys travel, music and running.
